The gas-powered RAV4 only has one engine option, but that engine has the perfect balance of power and capability.

The 2022 RAV4 comes with a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). This engine produces 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, and the VVT-i technology offers intuitive fuel injection that maximizes fuel efficiency. When you have a front-wheel drive model, you will see a fuel efficiency of around 27 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. Upgrade to the all-wheel drive version, and those ratings stay relatively the same, with 27 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. You also get up to 3,500 lbs of towing capacity with this model.

The base model comes equipped with Sport, Eco, and Normal modes. Operate your RAV4 in Sport mode for the quickest acceleration, Eco mode for optimal fuel economy, or Normal mode for a combination of both performance and efficiency. You also have the option of adding the Multi-Terrain Select that includes Mud & Sand, Rock & Dirt, and Snow modes to make driving through rougher conditions a whole lot easier.
